We just can’t seem to get enough of those hookers…

…and their gorgeous homes!

This past weekend I loaded  up my cameras, tripods and lights and when Audrey arrived bright and early on Sunday, I started the drive west to a wonderful home in Oneonta, NY. The anticipation and gorgeous scenery made the 3.5  hour drive go by in no time. I so wish I could drive and take pics at the same time because we crossed the Hudson River and went through mountains and past farmlands and pastures and it was glorious!

And so wasn’t the home we shot! Yes, I said “we”. This was the first time Karen Gerhart joined me in taking pics of a home. Karen had visited the shop and made the connection and plans with the homeowner/shopkeeper Mary Lou for this shoot and and it was such a pleasure shooting pics with her.

Mary Lou is a long time rug hooker and the 3 of us were just in awe of all the gorgeous rugs in her home. Just pure eye candy…

… as was the rest of her home! Here are some more sneak peeks from around the home … enjoy!

I can’t tell you what issue it will be in but I bet you can guess! We generally do shoots in the season for that season a year ahead but occasionally we sneak one in off season and we so appreciate that Mary Lou cut fresh greens and decorated for Christmas for us during  a hot summer week!

It was wonderful to have a little break and be treated to a wonderfully refreshing lunch…

And of course, we ended the day with a little shopping in her quaint shop right on the property!

Mary Lou carries primitive and colonial décor as well as lots of wool for all you hookers out there!  I brought home this sweet little folk art angel.
