Saturday was the PERFECT weather for the first fall photo shoot of this season. Audrey and I only had a short ride from my home to the wonderful home of Janet and Glenn DeYoung.
As soon as we drove up, and I saw the DeYoung’s quintessential New England Cape style home, I knew we were in for a treat and I jumped out of my car and started shooting pics immediately while Audrey, Janet and Glenn got comfy inside. From the front yard to the front door to the entry way on the side,
and in every room inside there was eye candy everywhere! Please enjoy these sneak peeks!
They have such great taste…even in their reading materials!!
After I spent a few hours taking pics, it was time for a break and we all sat down at Janet’s delightfully set table and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
As often happens when I am photographing a home, I get in ‘the zone’ and my whole focus is on what I am shooting and where the sun is moving and what I will shoot next. In the beginning, I can hear Audrey and the homeowners getting to know each other and chatting away as they fill out the questionnaire that Audrey brings which is later used by the writers. But soon I am in my own little world and even as they continue to chat away ~ sometimes for hours ~ I don’t hear a thing!! Then even when we break for a drink or lunch, I still am sometimes still in my zone and this was one of those times and I totally forgot to take pics of the food until it was almost all devoured! I did remember just in time to snap a picture of the last of the yummy little chocolate cream pie tarts we had for dessert.
In case you can’t read the menu, these were preceded by Olive Garden Tuscan Soup, Ham & Cheese Party Buns, and Strawberry Jellied Salad on a bed of Spinach w/ creamy vinaigrette dressing.
It was delicious and very much appreciated!! It was a delightful day and I know you will thoroughly enjoy seeing a lot more of this home in a future issue. Thanks Janet and Glenn for opening your home to Audrey and I and to the readers of APP & CJ!

As I have said before, we never expect to be fed and in fact we always happy to bring our own lunch. We know how much work it is just to get ready for a shoot, never mind cook a meal for guests! We just enjoy sitting down and ‘breaking bread’ with the homeowners. For me especially, it is really the only time I have to spend much time chatting with them and I always love to hear a little about how their home ‘came to be’.

Soon it will be time for the September blog giveaway and we have some other news to share so check back over the weekend for all the news!
Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, for all the App staff,
prim blessings, Linda
